Location
The circuit is located in the Interlagos district of Sao Paolo - hotels are plentiful in central and southern Sao Paolo.

The Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace is situatetd on the opposite side of the city to the international airport Guarulhos, a journey of 40 km (25 miles).

The circuit is situated in the Interlagos suburb of Sao Paolo, approximately 15km south of the city centre. The city possesses a wide public transport network, including a subway system, numerous bus companies and plenty of taxis.

Sao Paolo's major international airport is Guarulhos which lies 25km north-east of the city. There is a half-hourly shuttle bus service from the airport into the city.

To get to the circuit by car from Sao Paulo, take the Marginal Pinheiros south-bound towards Interlagos and then follow signs for the track.

The best public transportation in São Paulo is the subway (called "Metrô"), it is safe, cheap, clean and easy and takes you to north, south, east and west of the city. Unfortunately it lacks of stations for a better coverage of the whole city. It is linked to the railway and many buses terminal through all the city, making easy for you to move in the city.

Buses are also a good choice, go where the subway can not take you. Out of rush hours, it could be a good opportunity to go around beside you can have a sight-view of the city appreciating its architecture and see how Paulistanos (name given the person born in São Paulo) live, drive, dress etc

São Paulo is well served by municipal bus service (you will recognize them looking at the white buses with red horizontal stripes).
To get a bus to stop, you just have to put out your arm horizontally (see how other commuters do).

Bus stops are usually well marked, some have a shelter but some do not (you will see only a stick and some people stand-up around it, especially out downtown). As you will not find information about which bus stops there or not, you had better ask for some one about information, if you find no one at the bus stop, go to the closest shop or bar and ask them.

The fair is around R$ 1,15 depending on the bus you will take (some go to other boroughs and charge you more).
You get on the bus by the front door and get off by the back door. After you get on the bus you have to pay your fare to the fare collector (called "cobrador"). The fare is usually written over his head, so pay attention and check your change. Some may give you a "vale transporte" is a all ticket that can be used are money on the public transportation. You may tell him or her you are not used to take buses and would prefer cash instead. If he or she has cash change, they will certainly change it for you, otherwise keep that and get out of it in your first opportunity.

There is also an executive bus (SPTrans), in green-and-gray color . Their number identification end with "E", they are not so crowded but cost a little bit more, around R$ 2,00.

The subway (called "Metrô") of São Paulo is considered one of the best in the world. It is safe, clean, comfortable and quick but unfortunately it does not serve many southern districts.

It operates daily from 5:00 a.m. to midnight.

It is divided in color lines that connect different parts of the city.
Blue line: The blue line runs north-south
Red line: runs east-west
Green line: runs under Avenida Paulista from Vila Mariana to the new stations at Sumaré and Vila Madalena.

Tickets are sold in the station about R$ 1,50

There are many radio taxis operating in Sao Paulo and many owner-driven taxis as well. Radio Taxis are usually well maintained and reliable as well are radio taxis.
Owner-driven (called "Taxi Comum") are usually cheaper then some radio taxis but not them all. A few taxi drivers may take advantage that you may not know the city and choose the longest way to your final destiny.

Avoid hailing taxis on the street -especially at night- prefer calling Radio Taxis (" Rádio Taxi") they are usually safer and more reliable.

Although more expensive then owner-driven taxis and some radio taxis, these two following companies offer good services:

Taxi Azul e Branco (Blue and White Taxi)
They operate in borough of Guarulhos and São Paulo and you will certainly see them at the International Airport of Sao Paulo - Guarulhos (GRU) and can take you in safety way to any part of the city. They are certainly the best choice when you arriving in Sao Paulo at the Guarulhos airport and have to go to your hotel.
Their fleet are new, cars are usually big and have air-conditioning for your comfort.
If you are lucky, you may get a taxi driver that speaks English. They can also take you to any other city in the state of Sao Paulo. They take credit card or cash (dollar or real).

Taxi Vermelho e Branco (Red and White Taxi)
They operate in São Paulo and you will certainly see them at the International Airport of Sao Paulo - Congonhas (CGH) and can take you in safety way to any part of the city.
Similar to the Taxi Azul e Branco, their fleet are new, cars are usually big and have air-conditioning for your comfort.
If you are lucky, you may get a taxi driver that speaks English.
They take credit card or cash (dollar or real).
